I stumbled into a link for The Hero Factory earlier today (via Seduced by the New). The Hero Factory is pretty cool. You start by picking a man or a woman hero then changing their appearance, along with their crests and special weapons. You end up with your very own fully customized Hero!
The image above is of the hero I constructed. The site chose the name for comic book cover and I don’t like it. I’m suprised they didn’t let you change this. Anyways, his real name is HeartBeat, who’s job it is to bring justice to those who hate. In case you didn’t notice, he doesn’t like wearing shirts. Also, he can fly, his sword glows when it is near someone that has hate in their heart and his wings fold into his back when he’s in disguise.
One of these days, I’ll have to share more of HeartBeat’s life with you. His loves, his battles, how he came to be. Hmmm…

Nicholas Edward Gonzalez (born January 3, 1976 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American actor of Mexican descent. In 1998, Nicholas moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly landed small parts in established television series such as ABC’s Dharma and Greg and NBC’s One World.
Nicholas then appeared as Fidel Castro’s son in the Lifetime Original Movie, My Little Assassin, starring Joe Mantegna and Gabrielle Anwar. But it was his role as Andy, the gay yuppie on MTV’s Undressed that received great attention. For six nights he wowed viewers, and those episodes became the most requested in the series’ history.
Determined to continue working in film, Nicholas wrapped production of two films in 2000. The first, Scenes of the Crime, premiered at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. It starred Jeff Bridges, Jon Abrahams, and Noah Wyle. It was directed by Dominique Forma. The second film was an independent project titled Spun, starring Mena Suvari, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy, and John Leguizamo. It played at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.
Nicholas’s most well-known role also came his way in 2000. Beating out 400 other actors, he landed the lead in Showtime’s original movie, Resurrection Blvd, which premiered June 26, 2000. Working alongside veteran Latino actors Elizabeth Pena, Esai Morales, Michael DeLorenzo, Rita Moreno, and Tony Plana, Nicholas took center-stage as Alex Santiago, the handsome pre-med student who dropped out of school in order to become a professional boxer. The movie was successful and immediately expanded to become a regular weekly series on the network.
While continuing his work on Resurrection Blvd, Nicholas appeared in episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger and That 70’s Show. He even found time for a family film with his Resurrection Blvd.co-star, Marisol Nichols. The Princess and the Barrio Boy (released as She’s in Love in Europe) proved to be Nicholas’s most popular role to date. In the film, Nicholas plays a swimmer, a poor teen on an athletic scholarship, who attracts the interest of a rich but rebellious teenage girl. The girl, a champion swimmer, tries to get back at her family by dating a boy from a working-class background. Edward James Olmos and Maria Conchita Alonso starred as the girl’s parents. In his turn as a romantic lead, Nicholas melted hearts on both sides of the Atlantic.
Nicholas continued his career in films with two more titles. The first, Sea of Dreams, was filmed in Veracruz, Mexico, in May, 2003. Nick then headed off to Fiji for the summer, where he completed production of Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, which opened in theaters August 27, 2004.

I woke up this morning and wanted to put on a little music, so I walked over to my Zune to fire it up. Not only did it not start, it had an annoying, frozen Zune startup screen, mocking me.
Apparently, owners of the same model I have all over the planet are experiencing the same problem. Here’s Microsoft’s take on the situation…
We are aware that customers with the Zune 30GB are experiencing issues with their Zune device. We are actively working now to isolate the issue and develop a solution to address it. We will keep customers informed on next steps via the support page on zune.net (zune.net/support).

UPDATE - They didn’t program this version of the Zune to handle the leap year, so it freaked. The next day it was back to normal. Microsoft promises to fix the problem before next leap year. By then, no one will still be using these.
I usually don’t do a ton of movie reviews on my blog, but occasionally I see a movie that moves me enough to share it with all of you. This movie, on the other hand, did not do that. The Happening was appallingly (is that even a word?) terrible.
Mark Wahlberg delivers a laughable performance. Not only was he completely miscast as a Science teacher, throughout the movie, he seems like he never knows what emotion to show, so he shoots for constipated. Now, I know, Mark isn’t the best actor, but I’ll submit that he does fine when directed appropriately (ala Martin Scorsese).
Also, I had a difficult time with the idea of suicides providing us with entertainment. On top of that, the suicides were often silly and even a bit funny to those with odd senses of humor. Again, difficult to reconcile with the suicide theme.
I read that M. Night Shyamalan is going to take a break from adult movies and make the Airbender movie and methinks it’s a good move. He needs to recharge.
